September 22, 2025 by Admin Jemput

Distinguished multidisciplinary artist Alexander Wessely presents his newest solo exhibition, “KORTEX,” at Fotografiska Stockholm, marking one among Scandinavia’s largest up to date artwork showcases. Spanning almost 1000 sq. meters, the immersive set up delves into Wessely’s various creative apply encompassing sculpture, pictures, and movie.

“KORTEX” invitations guests right into a fascinating brutalist setting adorned with marble sculptures, ethereal mild pillars, evocative images, cutting-edge 3D expertise, and dynamic projections. On the coronary heart of this venture lies Wessely’s exploration of idolatry within the fashionable world, delving into the intricate dynamics between icons and their worshippers.

Observing the phenomenon of human worship by way of his creative lens and collaborations with influential musicians like The Weeknd and Swedish Home Mafia, Wessely peels away societal layers to show the uncooked essence of humanity. Notable highlights of the exhibition embody a mesmerizing depiction of The Weeknd, an unique sound piece in collaboration with Dani Moon (aka 070 Shake), and the enigmatic video paintings ‘Particular person Crowd,’ the place white marble casts of human pores and skin float gracefully in darkness.

Reflecting on his artistic journey, Wessely shares, “Over a decade in the past, I immersed myself on the earth of famend icons and witnessed the fervor of idolatry and adoration that surrounded them. As I delved deeper into the layers surrounding these human behaviors, the idea of “KORTEX” was born—a multidimensional set up that juxtaposes distinct but harmonious dimensions, exploring the brand new and the traditional, the floor and the interior core, and the bodily object with the profound ideas it embodies.”

The exhibition is on view by way of September 17, 2023. Head to Fotografiska’s web site for extra data.

Elsewhere, BEYOND THE STREETS and CONTROL GALLERY introduced a complete solo exhibition that includes works by the legendary Chicano artist, Mister CARTOON entitled “Simply My Creativeness.”
